The Royal Wedding

I have been completely reeled in by the Royal Wedding.
The jewelry, the dress (oh the dress), the flowers, Westminster Abbey, the kiss(es) on the balcony.

I love it all.

My favorite part though?

The Carriage Ride.

I've been on two carriage rides in my life - one on a date during Prom, and another, up in Salt Lake City a few years ago. But to have a carriage ride announcing your wedding? That's definitely the stuff of romance.

My Dog Thinks She's Human

The point of this blog post is to ask for a little help -- I'm looking for another teacup yorkie, preferably a cute one. Because mine is a little lonely, and she thinks she's human.

She really is very cute.

And, she really thinks she's human, she sleeps UNDER covers.

Hogs the Wii remote.

Sleeps like a HUMAN, under said covers.

She enjoys the great American pasttime- baseball.

And even brushes her own teeth.

So if anyone out there knows of a little yorkie for sale - preferably in the Utah/Idaho area... let me know!

Here's What I Love

I LOVE this camera -- and I want it sooooo badly. I'm hoping to get it as a graduation present to myself. Please feel free to send me congratulations money, ;).

LOVE the new OPI nail shatter polish, even if you're a guy.... this is pretty cool right?

Love the photo I ended up choosing for my graduation announcements. Even though it doesn't show my red hair, I still love it.

Easter Sunday with my sisters.

And my cute niece.

And my nephew who DIVE-TACKLED every single easter egg he saw.
Look closely, he totally face planted it in this shot. He landed so hard his legs flew up in the air and wanted to connect with the back of his head.
It was awesome.

After tackling all the eggs, he then stole my camera and took hundreds of photos that looked like this one.
At least it made me realize that I have a nice chin, right?
Now when someone says name your favorite body part - I don't have to say my eyes now.
I can look them square in the eye and say "I have a fabulous chin, don't you think so?"
Maybe I can even turn to let them admire it from a profile shot.
Ha.
P.S. This photo is misleading. My knees are truly not that big.
I promise.

OrNot

So I went to bed last night thinking about the lyrics to the song I posted yesterday -- that every day -- is the first day of the rest of your life. And I thought about how simple it really was to be happy -- to just go with it and make sure you had a good day.

I really don't know what the hell I was thinking when I thought that.

Seriously.

Because it's so not easy.

Especially when you have work drama, coworker drama, family drama, sister drama, money drama, and the messiest house in all creation. It's like my carpet is a friggin collector of everything that does not belong.
I passed my ironing board in the hallway, a slew of clothes across the bedroom floor, and an insane amount of boxes (full of scrapbook paper) filling a part of my living room while I was getting ready for work today.

I have no desire to clean my house -- I really just want to go home watch NIKITA on the CW and take a bubble bath.

Branded

I watched (was it the VMA's?) an awards show a few years back when Russell Brand hosted.

I was not a fan.

At all.

But after seeing this movie..... ARTHUR.....I am completely 100% a fan of Russell Brand.

And Helen Mirren rocked my nylons off too, and I don't even wear nylons.
If you haven't seen this movie yet... please do.

Happy Thursday!

It's Come to An End

This is the last day of my 30 days blogging adventure -- so I bid it adieu with my favorite song.

The video is too heavily copyrighted for me to put the official on my blog -- here's the link though.

I LOVE this song.

Day - 28 Past & Present

This is me last year..... it's in Astoria, Oregon going up the inside stairwell of the Astoria Column.

And this year....in Spanish Fork.

I think the biggest difference is the red hair :).

Day 25 & 26 Handbags & Friends

Day 25 -- what would you find in my bag?
Here's what you'll find:
Various receipts that I SO shouldn't keep, like the one in the right hand corner to Cabo Wabo - in Vegas like a MONTH ago. My journal, the current book I'm reading (hello twilight), business cards, a zillion pens, my orange hobo wallet, lipgloss (like 85 of them) mints, hair ties, bobby pins, partial manuscript I'm working on, different rings, bracelets, and necklaces.

Burt's Bees - favorite chapstick ever!-, glue sticks (I have no idea), ferero roche chocolates, 2 plastic forks (again, I have NO idea, I have no idea where those came from, I have a Mary Poppins bag I swear), eyeliner, makeup brush, coral lipstick, nail clippers, watches, my check book.

For the record, this is my bag only half full - it's normally crammed with odds & ends -- I could survive for DAYS stranded in the wilderness with the contents of my purse fending off wild animals and starvation with its numerous contents.

(And, since I'm trying to be done with this 30 day blogging asap! here's the next day too)

Day 26- What I think of my Friends

I think my friends are fa-ricken awesome. I have THE BEST girl friends. It's so GREAT to have people you can talk to and tell secrets, and laugh with until your stomach hurts-- and not fear being ridiculed or hurting their feelings or causing a fight. I can be completely honest with them about anything, and they know EXACTLY where I'm coming from. Friends like that are hard to find, & I'm super glad I found them :).

Day 24 - My Last 5 Facebook Updates

1 -Dr Appt to figure out what’s wrong with my knees turns into a tetanus shot, chicken pox vaccine, and a billion vial blood draw (all in one arm)– and they still aren’t sure what’s wrong with me. I felt lightheaded the whole way back to work – with a bad case of the giggles.

2- "Oh! Amy knows?!?" -- I hate when I hear the other assistant say that in her gleeful tone. It means I'm about to get some DREADED task that she doesn't want to do.

3- Shut Up! Someone just left a 3 $100 dollar bills on my desk in an envelope with my name on it. You've GOT to be kidding me!

4-I wish there was a forum I could go to swear -- A LOT-- and not have people mad at me - because I've had more bad news today than I got in ALL the days of last month. @#$%@#$%!!!!

5-Remember the spying coworker? I'm am almost 100% positive that she was in the office next to mine trying to get a photo of my computer. WHAT is with her?? She awkwardly slunk out when someone called out her name.

These are highly entertaining for me to go back and read.

Day 22 & 23 Uniqueness & Cravings

Day 22 -- What makes me unique??

I can shape my tongue into a 3-leaf clover. And try as I might, I couldn't get a photo of it that I didn't look horrible in. Sorry! That's pretty unique though, right? :)

& Day 23 - Something I crave all the time....

I honestly don't have cravings that I can remember. I do go through phases though (of restaurants) my current phase is Bajio. When I walk into the one in Provo, I don't even have to place an order - they just start making my food. It's awesome.

I'm getting sick of this 30 days of blogging & I'm glad it will be over soon!

Day 21 - Something that Makes Me Happy

Coming across hysterical photos like this one - in my archives.

I'm the second one in on the right side.

Good times.

Day 20 - Something I want to Remember

In ten years, I want to remember that THIS was the year Justin Bieber cut his hair.

JUST KIDDING!

Ha, come on, that was funny.

Really though, Justin Bieber aside, what do I want to remember 10 years from now?
Probably everything that I wrote in that letter to myself.
And about a million other things.
I want to remember quotes I've read, and people I've met, and anything that's made even the slightest impact on my life.
I want to remember sights, and smells, and what the double rainbow that shone over my house looked like.
I want to remember the things that made me ME - so that I don't change and become some a different version of who I see myself as in another decade. I want to remember everything about this moment, and tomorrows moments that seem special to the 24 year old me.
I let so many of the little things slip past me and I hate forgetting.

Day 19 - Nicknames

I'm skipping day 18 due to the fact that I find it annoying. I know I've already done it in a differently worded way in an earlier post.

Day 19 is nicknames you've had and why. I feel bad that I don't remember them all - there are a lot.

Bucket (I don't even know what context my parents were trying to use this..... but it's the only non-embarassing nickname I have from my childhood). Seriously though, Bucket? I think they may have been trying to give me a complex, although I'm not sure what kind.

My last name (Schnakenburg) gave me a zillion nicknames: Schnak, Schnak Attack, Schnakums, Schnakers, SCHNAKEN-BURG! (there were choice boys in my high school that loved yelling that down the hallway) and there are a LOT more that have to do with my name. Thankfully my older sister got saddled with all the embarassing ones :).

Ames, Aim Dizzle, Amsel, Aim, Oomp (this was from my friend Bre... I'll have to ask her why, that was sophmore year hers was Fudge, and I have no idea why I called her that....), ummm I know there are more some of them are completely inappropriate so I won't share, because who knows who reads this blog... :)

Day 17 - The Swap

Today, Day 17, asks "Who would you want to switch lives with for one day?"

So the first thing that popped into my head was to be Jennifer Aniston or Oprah Winfrey -why? Because I'm greedy. I would be them and, knowing that I would go back to being myself, would anonymously gift myself a lot of really cool things. Hahaha. I swear, that's the most awful thought ever. Which is why a genie will never grant me a wish -- because I would just want to switch places with a rich person and have them send me the awesome couch I've really been wanting ...... it's this one, for the record.

But free things aside and if celebrities were out of the question, there is someone that I would want to switch places with and it's sheerly out of intense curiosity. I'll not say who it is -- but it's someone I went to high school with. I haven't seen him in years, but he's always had this mind set that I've admired. It's like his brain is wired with this unheard of frequency that's 100% non-mainstream.
Of the thoughts that I heard in high school and the few that I've heard in the years since, I've been fascinated with his voice (literary) and the direction he's headed in his life.
It's just so different from every single other person I know and knew and grew up with. And it's fascinating, I would love to see the reasoning - the thought process. And I'd jump to change places with him for a day, really I would.

Who would you change places with?
