Sorry I missed last Friday's Friday Funny.... I was the fortunate winner of a mild concussion - so blogging wasn't exactly a top priority.

So, today I'll do two of them...

This is seriously the face my puppy Phoebe gives me when she's done something wrong.

She acts totally clueless and then runs to me to pet her like I have no idea that she's done something naughty like chew a hole through my new socks.

So, I have a thing for horses. I've loved them since I was younger. There was an older man in my neighborhood who let me and a friend go visit his horses. We'd watch them shyly over the rounded slats, wishing they would come near. 

But then they would and we'd have a moment of terror when they got close enough to nip at us. 

I went out in search of a suitable subject to practice my photography skills on and remembered this sweet group of horses down the way from my house. 

This horse was stunning. I've always had a love of freckles. I had millions of them covering my face when I was young, so I was excited to see the sprinkles of freckling under this white horses eyes. 

Gorgeous. 

This horse was soo skittish, every time I tried to get close enough to take a photo he would run away. 

I love the colors in this photo, makes me wistful that summer is coming to a close so quickly. 

Off to finish watching Biggest Loser..... :).

If you know me AT ALL, you know that I am a MASSIVE Harry Potter Fanatic, not just a fan.

If you don't laugh at this, you are either dead inside, or completely oblivious to the Harry Potter Phenomenon, in either case, you should work to correct the issue.

Reminder

I have to keep reminding myself lately.

That the world is wonderful.

And my life is great.

There's a sky over my head, I have a place to call my own, and there is beauty all around me.

Life has seemed incredibly hard for me lately, with so many things going on personally and professionally that I often feel like I'm gravitating to not being me anymore. Like I'm more of an oddly unhappy, former version of myself. And I don't like that version of me.

But, then I see images like this one that makes me stop. and smile. and remember that there is a lot more to the world than my small concerns.

So today I'll be stopping to stare at the sky, and contemplate just how awesome life is.

Grey Or Gray

For those of you out there wondering whether or not you spell the color gray or grey....

it's both.

In America, it's spelled gray, and overseas (like the UK) it's spelled grey.

I prefer spelling it grey.

I haven't been able to nail down a favorite color since I was 12 (purple). I wore purple, I painted all four walls of my childhood bedroom a deep purple. I remember my dad walking in and skeptically saying 'well, if that's what you want'..... I wanted purple bangles, and I had purple scrunchiis (can you tell my parents lived in the 80's?) and I owned a pair of purple cotton candy colored shorts.

I over did it.

Now, I've been loving grey - for the last few years.

I don't want to over do it.

But I'm infatuated with it.

It's a perfect cool tone, and I've used it to accent my entire main floor. I have silver walls, decorative pieces, lamps, shades, and knobs. But don't worry, I'm not overdoing it.

The Sunday I Missed

My friend Lizzie had this shot she found on flickr on her Dancing Toad Photography blog and I thought it was the most beautiful shot.

Everyone knows what this past Sunday was - the 10th year since the tragedies of 9/11 happened.

This photo made me think what a lot of people are thinking...

it happened, and life goes on, because it has to.....

But I will never forget.

What's Cookin'

On days like today.... I feel like cooking.

Making every dish I come across that looks tasty. Sampling everything as I go. And leaving the kitchen in such a mess that it looks like I was either robbed or bombed.

What kind of a day is today?

A really bad one, I'd use a cuss word, but whatever. It's just a bad day.

I am BEYOND frustrated with work and the people I work with.

That's my main issue.

And then it's all the little things that are building up into an avalance that just make it worse.

I'm sure you've all had those days.

So, I went to my pinterest boards, found a few that caught my eye.

And fully plan on making them all, when I get off work. At 11 pm tonight....

Favorite Quote This Week

One of my friends tagged me on pinterest with this quote.

I find myself frustrated with people for this reason.....

I know the saying goes -- don't do something for someone if you expect something back,

do it just because.

And I get that.

But I think this quote sums it up for me perfectly.

I see all that I am willing to do for a person, and what they are willing to do for me.

And, if time after time, it never balances out..... that's when I have an issue.
