The Chicken Chase

So, like I said other places online....

The chickens went on a full scale REVOLT last night. I have been letting them stay out about 30 minutes or more each day after I get off work. And I sit on a lawn chair in the cold, or do a bit of yard work while they run around the yard and get into mischief.

Today though, I had a lot of things I had to get done, and places I had to get to. So I couldn't let them stay out. And since the massacre a few weeks ago, I don't dare let them stay out in the yard by themselves. So after about 10 or 15 minutes, I started to shoo them back to their coop to put them inside.

And they WERE NOT having it.

AT ALL.

They were so intent on staying out of the coop that no amount of herding would get them NEAR the coop. Those assholes made me chase them all across the yard, around the house. And then when I would get near to them, they would split up and run in opposite directions.
It was like they were tag teaming me!

I was laughing really hard. So hard. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

I also noticed my neighbor, watching me out her kitchen window, which made me laugh even more.
She opened her window, and told me "You know I don't think you are ever going to be a farmer." Ha!!!
That made me laugh even more.

But guess what?

I single handedly caught each one of those defiant chickens.
Carried them to the coop.
And put them inside.

Ha!

Seriously, it was the highlight of my day.
That, and the fact that I think all of them are now laying eggs, because this is what I got from their nests yesterday.

Eeek! SO FUN!!

Dude--that is rad :D I would've not been able to run if I were there with you, as I would've been rolling... ;0) So cool with the eggs too--I'm glad you got all different ones to get all different eggs :D
